Swiss fashion chain Heidi.com‘s flagship ‘Retail of Tomorrow’ store has won an award for its use of contactless and mobile technology.
Based in Neuchatel, Switzerland, the store uses technology from a number of vendors, including Red Ant, Samsung, INOX and Intel, to combine the virtual world with a physical shop and retail environment.
Red Ant provided the mobile retail technology behind the project, which was recognised in Contactless Intelligence’s Contactless and Mobile Awards 2014.
Consumers visiting the store have the opportunity to experience a personalised in-store service, online access to product information and various social shopping options. The Retail of Tomorrow store has the ability to link sales to the full stock inventory in real time, giving customers access to the entire product range.
Dan Mortimer, CEO of Red Ant, said: “The pioneering Retail of Tomorrow project is the most effective example yet of how brands can combine the virtual world with a physical shop to create a truly omnichannel shopping experience.
“Red Ant is proud to have played a key part in creating an outlet that provides the blueprint for brands looking to prepare their business for the continued evolution of the retail sector.”
